Think I’m stuck in an AU
— contemporary,
but
so real
it’s surreal

Not one of the fun ones:
barista, florist, college, actors,
etcetera
etcetera
etcetera

…No,
this is

One of those
long and winding
tales of

life’s all-too real
pains
piled up on each
other

until it’s not so
real
not so
real
(just surreal)

any
more…

Seems less hurt/comfort,
more hurt/hurt

The angst is off
the charts
But this dove
is still alive
and kicking
