On Thursday, August 15, I went to the Sea Palace, a Chinese restaurant that floats on the water close to Centraal Station in Amsterdam. I’ve always wanted to go there, so I decided to make it a stop on my August Amsterdam Adventure.

Most of the things I have missed in Amsterdam are food, particularly American Chinese food. I’ve been told the Sea Palace is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area.

Let me just say it was not American Chinese food. It was better.

The service is family-style. I went with a friend, and we shared a half duck and a shrimp dish. They were both delicious, and the servings were large enough that I took home leftovers, which were enough for lunch and dinner the next day.
