the true genuine joy of routine

To me, genuine joy
may not be a big belly laugh

nor connection,
to another -
I’ve yet to find,
I’ve yet to find,
I’ve yet to find.

But the thing
that gives me the most joy
is that quiet certainty
of routine, one step in front of the other,
the predictability
the love
I give to myself.

#WritingPrompt: Prompt 1: Write about the last time you felt genuine joy, had a big belly laugh or felt truly loved and supported.

From Ravyne Hawke; Spyder; jules - Miz Mindful; Diana C.
