The more nonsensical it seems
The more elusive the deduction has to be
The more flowery the language
The more seeds can be planted

— to grow away from the soil

I’ve practiced wizardry
of the delusional kind
A simple floating head
pretending to wield power
but in the end
no more than a little girl
I was

And even if you sail the ships
of a thousand captains
draw the pen
of a thousand poets

tear each word
away from each limb

Through it all
the expensive words flounder
and the beautifully ordinary
is heartbreak worth
a thousand tales
