What can you do in 8 minutes? The issue of time confetti
event boundaries and the pursuit of presence
In which I find myself filling time / those weird little 8 minutes or 12 minutes or 6 minutes where I don’t know that I can start a new task that requires concentration / but TIME CONFETTI, split across moments / that feel lost
I sometimes check my email during those moments / slowly but surely / and add things to my to do list
I’ve realized that this year I’m working towards presence / I want to be able to start a task and get to a reasonable “event boundary”, where I feel like I’ve moved it forward a reasonable amount instead of simply opening it and closing it all the time because I have 6 or 8 or 12 minutes / opening up the stress but not ever closing it or moving it forward.
