Jealous accomplishes nothing besides stress you out. When I first started writing on Medium, I saw how many successful writers there were on this platform.

Besides seeing their quality content, I saw how some of them wrote stories about just how much money they were making from their articles. One article made you $800 bucks? That’s mind-blowing, I’d think to myself.

Maybe one day I’ll be able to write a viral piece of content and that’ll be the day I feel I’ve made it.

In the present day, I’ve realized that wishing for a viral piece of content isn’t the right way to think. Neither is being jealous of our writing peers. Instead of envying what others have — whether that be a boatload of followers or stories that make a lucrative amount of money, we should learn from them instead.
