Our July has been spectacular — to put it as succinctly as possible. But since we love rambling on and tooting our own horn, we’re aren’t just stopping at that, are we?!

First of all, we had a slew of exciting events planned on Brigge at the end of June. There was a Open Mic night we organized for all you creative weirdos out there and boy are there quite a few of you! Needless to say, it was rather eventful!

We teamed up with the good folks at Crea Shakthi who let us use their studio. A big shout out to them!

Then our board gamers’ groups went all out and had the biggest board games evening ever in Chennai. You know, because — nostalgia FTW! Together with the Bambaram Toy Library, Amethyst Cafe, host Santhosh Subramanian and some 30-odd gamers, we totally had the best fun ever!

As you can see, things got pretty intense!
Our big happy board family!!

With June ending that way, July just had to be totally kickass — and it has been!

The JAM group (Madras JAM Association) on Brigge got together and had another session, this time even inviting some scribes to join in. After meeting up at the beach in May, this time it was an indoor venue.

The Hindu journalist Swathi Chandrasekaran wrote a nice piece about it. You can find it here. Also — just in case you wanna be a part of the next one — you know what to do! (That’s right, download the app)

(Did we mention the press also covered our board games evening? Check out this terrific piece in the New Indian Express)

The Chennai Campers spent a weekend camping at Pulikat Lake.

The Literally Literary members met up for an “Open Write” session as they like to call it.

The Food Walkers — well they kept eating and walking (this is their 8th meet-up, these guys are just relentless).

Were you a part of any of these events? (Is that you in any of the photos?) Do let us know!

And in case you weren’t (tsk, tsk), it’s alright, there’s always next month. There’s quite a few events lined up for August already — movie screenings, badminton tournaments, early morning jogs — join the activity and show up! Or better yet — start your own activity/group on Brigge!

And if you’re not on the app yet — it’s okay, we understand — you have other things to do, Pokemons to catch (how’s that working out for ya?). We’ll wait around till real life finally catches up with you. When it does, here’s where you can find us!

‘Til then!
