Lawsuit Brought against Popeyes Chicken CEO, A Parody
(Community activists take to the street against sandwich)
Black activists from every religion, socioeconomic background, and political leaning, organized hundreds of thousands of protesters to march on Popeyes Chicken Headquarters in Miami, Florida today.
“We done had enough,” Reverend Chickenfoot, pastor of Miami’s Christ Has Risen For You and Me Church lamented. “How many more people have to die before this damn sandwich is recognized as a nuisance?”
The protests came after what has been called the Popeyes Riots that broke out across the US as the fast food chain ran out of the sandwiches for the third time since it’s introduction.
“I waited in line for an hour, and when they announced there was no more sandwiches….hell broke loose,” said one protester who asked to remain anonymous.
Malik Diop Jenkins, a former Black Panther and founder of Hotep Healthy Eats was one of the first organizers.
“We have to take this sandwich….we have to take it….and put it under the microscope,” Jenkins began his speech in front of thousands earlier.
“Something is wrong! Something is wrong with this chicken. We said we weren’t going to be hoodwinked and bamboozled again but they serving us this sandwich like the Tuskegee Experiment,” Jenkins continued.
Demand for the sandwich became violent recently, and lawyer Edmonds Edwards III of White Plains, NY decided to address the source.
“I’m not one for conspiracy theories but no one at Popeyes or Restaurant Brands International has done anything to either meet the demand or phase it out all together. I have to believe that this is what they want…us killing each other.”
Edwards has started a class action suit against CEO Cheryl Bachelder.
Popeyes representatives couldn’t be reached for comment and had only this statement which was addressed to the protestors.
“We, at Popeyes, welcome the right of protest and we plan to be sure to feed each and every protestor with one of our chicken sandwiches.”
At the time of this writing, the protest has grown ten-fold.
