Hey guys! How’s it going today? I’m feeling pretty pumped because I get to talk about a topic that I’m super passionate about — making friends from all over the world! I mean, what’s better than having friends from different cultures and backgrounds to share your experiences and learn from? And guess what? With all the technology we have today, it’s never been easier! And that’s why I’m here to share my ultimate guide on how to make friends around the world using mobile apps.

Making new friends can be scary, especially if you’re an introvert like me. But trust me, it’s so worth it! So, without further ado, here are my top tips:

  1. Language exchange apps are your new best friend — My absolute favorite is HelloTalk. It’s a platform where you can connect with native speakers from all over the world and practice speaking their language. Not only will you be improving your language skills, but you’ll also make some amazing new friends and learn about their culture!
  2. Join a virtual community — There are so many Facebook groups and forums out there for all kinds of interests like Reddit, Discord and Quora, from travelers to language learners to foodies. These are great places to connect with like-minded people and share your experiences. You never know, you might just make a new best friend!
  3. Get involved in online events — With apps like Meetup and Eventbrite, you can now attend events from the comfort of your own home! They host virtual meetups, workshops, and parties that you can join to meet new people and have fun.

4. Dating apps aren’t just for dating Bumble BFF and Patook are two apps that are specifically designed for making friends. Swipe right on someone’s profile if you think you’d make good friends and start chatting. Who knows, you might just find your new BFF!

5. Travel with a local — If you’re planning a trip, consider using a travel app like Couchsurfing or Airbnb Experiences. These apps connect you with local hosts who can show you around their city and introduce you to their friends. It’s the best way to experience a new place like a local and make new friends at the same time.

6. Activity Partners — Find someone to do fun things with — If you’re not in the market to meet a new BFF and really just want to hang out casually and meet new people, consider signing up for The BU (aka “thebuddyup”), a new app that is in Beta right now. The app is a web-based app or “PWA” and allows you to view events and activities in your personalized feed (think TikTok format but for things to do) and allows you to “buddy-up” with people of like interest for local, on-line and Metaverse events. You can even market your Metaverse world there.

So, there you have it, don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. You never know who you’ll meet and what amazing experiences you’ll have.

Now, I want to hear from you guys! Which app are you most excited to try out? Leave a comment and let me know. And if you have any other tips or tricks for making friends around the world, I’d love to hear those too!

Alright, that’s all from me for now. Happy friend-making, everyone!
