Last year the Pakistan Cricket Board had a tough time with Covid19, which is unfortunate because, the year before, in 2019, they had recorded a 100% increase in revenue. A revenue of around 11 billion pakistani rupees, which equates to around 550 crore in Indian rupee or 75 million US dollars, much of this revenue was courtesy the PSL.

The PSL (Pakistan Super League)

The PSL has done well. It has managed to find a place in the common Pakistani’s heart and it shows. Though the quality of cricket has room for improvement, the tournament scores high on passion and support. After being staged in the UAE in the initial few years, it came back to Pakistan in 2020.

PSL 2021 will be held in Karachi, at the The National Stadium, and Lahore, at the Gaddafi Stadium. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani has said that they are in talks with the government to allow crowds for PSL-6 as stated below.

“The PSL is a famous brand now and the entire nation is proud of its league. Fans always supported the PSL and also played a significant role in making it a success in every edition. In this edition as well, we will try to convince the government to allow a fixed number of crowd who may watch the matches strictly following the Covid-19 SOPs set by the government”

The tournament is set to run from 20th February till 22nd March 2021.
