How to Publish Independently to The Buzz

Have a passion, interest, or hobby? Have a written piece or art you want to share with the Georgia Tech student body? You can be an independent writer for The Buzz, and publish content that you care about! Whether you want to talk about your student experience, recommend some awesome food places, share some art, or just talk about something you care about, The Buzz wants to hear your voice! Here is a step-by-step guide for how to publish:

How to Publish an independent Story to The Buzz

Step 1: Create a Free Medium Account

On our homepage https://medium.com/the-buzz-georgia-tech, you’ll see a button on the upper right hand called Get Started. Here, you can create your free Medium account, so that you can begin publishing stories.

Step 2: Write A Story

Now, when you click on our logo on the upper-right hand, you should see a option Write a Story. Click here to begin writing.

Step 3: Publish

Once you have your piece written, press publish and we encourage you to share to your social media channels! Our editors will review your submission as long as it follows community guidelines and it should be on the site within 24 hours.

Content Creators

If you want to be a consistent contributor and have a collection of stories or publication in mind, you can join us as a content creator rather than an independent contributor. To apply to be a content creator, go here: https://medium.com/the-buzz-georgia-tech/join-the-buzz-as-a-content-creator-91b846714bf8. This will give you the opportunity to publish a consistent series of your design, and work directly with our editors and team, as well as join The Buzz community.
