Your Draft Box is Full of Unfinished Ideas
Revisit them and give them new direction
Yes, it’s probably true. Every writer has multiple draft ideas in their draft box.
These could be ideas that were good but lacked effort and time. Or, ideas that simply didn’t have feet and seemed incapable of becoming full-fledged stories.
As writers, these unfinished ideas in our draft box are a treasure trove that we can revisit at a later point. Because,
When you run out of ideas, you may not need to look that far.
Ideas that lacked the big picture earlier may be ripe enough to take form this time around.
You are at a different phase in your life now, more evolved and mature as a writer, and can give the “old” idea a spin and perspective.
I remember in my English literature class we used to often discuss how every idea has already been explored by some author or the other at some point in the history of literature.
Why then do we keep writing?
Because we still believe in the same thoughts, and they are still relevant to our times. Most importantly, because we believe we can give the same ideas a new look and feel, one that resonates better…
