Vault Security

Cacti Vault is quite secure. Of course, nothing is a 100% secure; smart people are constantly trying to break into secure systems. Given that, we believe Cacti is secure enough due of the following reasons.

Your data stays on your device: No Cloud

We do not have a cloud component or a remote server for Cacti that stores any of your information or data. This decision was deliberate, and this means that your photos or any other personally identifiable data never leaves your devices because of Cacti.

Encryption: 256-bit AES for your Photos

Even the photos stored inside the Cacti Vault are encrypted using the industry-standard 256-bit AES. The key used for this is derived from your passphrase. Cacti never stores this passphrase anywhere (unless you opt-in to use Face ID or Touch ID). This means that your photos cannot be decrypted without your passphrase being known. This means that you lose your photos if you forget your passphrase. Very secure systems do not come without compromises.

No Personal Information Collected

We do not ask for your personal information; there is no sign up process. This means we do not know who you are. And, this is a great thing for privacy. Your data is on your device, Cacti just helps in keeping this data safe without us ever knowing or getting involved in your business.
