Champions Fantasy — Fantasista Tips for Gameweek 10

Opportunities were missed last gameweek. Worry not, lightning does not strike twice, unlike the Fantasista.

Not owning Benzema and some sort of defensive coverage from Villarreal was the main reason for not being able to secure a Top-5 place overall after the first leg of the UCL quarter-finals. The two spanish wins were the big surprises of the gameweek, specially the Bayern blank against the Submarino Amarillo, but nevertheless the 70 points scored allowed us to secure 9th spot overall!

What went completely sideways was the two picks from the last article: Joël Matip was rested by Klopp due to the upcoming big clash of the last weekend against main Premier League rivals Man City and Leon Goretzka didn’t start in Spain, being eased into the game from the bench when Bayern was already losing! Nagelsmann should have read my picks…

A new gameweek is already upon us, and fewer transfers allow us to focus on making the best possible picks, so here we go again. As always with one pick per kick-off time!

Jamal Musiala | BAY | M | 5.5M | In 1% of teams

Let me start by saying we will know Bayern’s starting eleven before the lock, so this one is a perfectelly controlled punt. Check the lineups, relax and enjoy! The Germans face a must-win game later today, and this young talent has an average of 7pts per start (in 4 games) this season in UCL, with 6.5DW and 0.75KP per start! He is also a nice filler and a good way to release funds.

Sadio Mané | LIV | M | 10.5M | In 4% of teams

Liverpool is on the verge of sealing a spot in the semi-finals of the UCL and Sadio is one of only three Liverpool players that has started every European game so far. In 9 games, he is averaging one goal involvement per 136 minutes. With only 4% ownership, he is an incredible differential at our disposal, this of course if you have the budget to accommodate such an hefty price tag.
