Champions Fantasy — Fantasista Tips for Gameweek 3

The Fantasista turned his season downside up with the Wildcard, and he has some great tips for your GW3 transfers.

The wildcard went smoothly, and we are back on track!

It is always a bit daring to reshuffle your team in GW2, using your single WC for the competition, but the plan we had was a good one and a really good top-100 score for the round got us back into contention for the overall ranking.

Now it is the time for small adjustments and to search for the best combos of schedule, opportunity and price to improve (or correct) a strong base.

Without further ado, here are the best bargains of this week:

Pedro Gonçalves | SCP | M | 8.0M | In 2% of teams

Last season, he was the shining star of the Portuguese champions, scoring an astounding 23 goals in 32 games. This year, an injury curtailed his chances on the European stage, but he is now finally ready to make his debut on the UCL stage. The early Tuesday kick-off is the perfect excuse to punt on him.

Nacho Fernández | RMD | D | 5.1M | In 6% of teams

He seems to be one of Ancelotti’s favorites after starting the last 7 matches of Los Blancos, including 2 in the UCL. At 5.1 M, being the cheapest one at the back, he offers the best entry point to a fixture list that reads: @sha-SHA-@she-INT. The Ukrainians are yet to score a goal in the group stage. And he is also averaging 2 KP and 6 DW per game, in case the clean sheet slips away.

Karim Adeyemi | RBS | A | 6.0M | In 2% of teams

Well, I just can’t stop myself from picking attacking options from this formidable Red Bull Salzburg team! Even missing one penalty in GW1, he confirmed, against all our bets, that definitely he is the penalty taker on call, winning two and converting both in GW2. So, if you have a free transfer to spare, and wish to bolster your attacking trio, there you go! He would also be a nice punt to captain in the early kick-off for Wednesday.

Mason Mount | CHE | M | 7.5M | In 5% of teams

It is probably wiser to pick a Chelsea attacking option, since they have a double header against Malmö, the second worst defense in the UCL so far. After a rest against Brentford, Mason, 3 KP and 6 DW in GW1, is our pick. Last year he was instrumental in my European campaign, so now is time to back him once again.
