Well, after having registered my third +100 points in seven gameweeks, I must say the first leg of the Round of 16 went very smoothly. Let’s keep it at that. No boasting of any sort.

Now we face some new dilemmas, but our precious pair of free transfers comes right in handy, and with some previous preparation for this scenario, everything seems manageable.

With that in mind, here are four possibilities for you to make ground on your fellow mini-league rivals:

Gonçalo Ramos | SLB | M | 5.9M | In 6% of teams

If by any chance you didn’t triple-up on Benfica in the first game versus Brugge, and still have a spare one on your five midfielders, this is one you would want for today’s kick-off. Yet to score at home in the UEFA Champions League, but with 12 of his 14 Liga Portugal goals scored at the Estádio da Luz, this may be the right time to jump on him.

Alphonso Davies | BAY | D | 6.6M | In 13% of teams

Since Nagelsmann changed Bayern’s shape to a 3–4–2–1, Davies and Coman were given license to attack at every chance they got. The speedy Canadian was introduced at halftime in the Parc du Princes bout, registered the assist for the single goal, and went on to clock 90 minutes in all three Bundesliga games since then, with 2 more assists along the way. I can’t see him bag a cleanie in this one, but Davies is there for attacking purposes!

Phil Foden | MCI | M | 8.1M | In 5% of teams

He seemed like a completely forgotten piece in the last 3 to 4 months, but come out of nowhere to score 4 goals in his last 3 matches, making him the man in form at City, and probably their best offensive weapon to beat Liepzig. If you can handle the Pep Roulette, that’s probably the best differential at this stage. A proper punt!

Piotr Zieliński | NAP | M | 6.6M | In 10% of teams

Napoli are by far the best attack on show in the European stage, so why not triple up on their offensive assets? The silky polish midfielder has 5 starts, 3 goals and 2 assists, from 8 SoT and 16 KP, and could well be back on penalty duties since the latest miss by his teammate from Georgia.
