The 13th UEFA Women’s European Championship is right around the corner and, even though it’s coming 1 year later than what was supposed to, football fans worldwide are eager for it to start. The Women’s Euro 2022 will take place in several English cities between Wednesday, July 6 and Sunday, July 31.
The Netherlands are the current European champions and they did it at home, at the De Grolsch Veste stadium, in Enschede, after defeating a powerful Danish team, back in 2017. Will Vivianne Miedema, the all-time (men’s and women’s) top goalscorer for the Netherlands, and the rest of the orange Lionesses keep their European title? Will the white Lionesses, with a strong defense line and Ellen White up front prevent the trophy from leaving the island? Or will Germany, the most dominant team with 8 European titles, add another cup to their collection? And of course, no one can rule Spain out, since Alexia Putellas, the current UEFA Player of the Year, and the rest of the La Roja team have been clearly on the rise for the past few years. There are other national teams that are theoretically weaker than those mentioned, but whose main stars might convince you to have them on your team, such as Ada Hegerberg, Pernille Harder, Kosovare Asllani, or Delphine Cascarino.
