The 4 tipsters of Fantasy Football Fevr bring you 3 players each, from all areas of the pitch, all with low ownership, so you can climb on the ranks and get on top of your private league.
Alexandre Oliveira
Marcos Acuña | Argentina | D | 5.5M | 2% ownership
Argentina is going to enter the next game as the favorite to win. After the defeat to Saudi Arabia, Argentina’s football significantly improved, displaying excellent defensive consistency. Acuña should maintain the position on the line-up since he was the one starting in the previous two games and has been performing well. He can be a threat as well and give some returns offensively.
Christian Pulisic | United States | M | 6.0M | 3% ownership
One of the best surprises of this World Cup has been the United States. Despite having only won one game thus far, they have played excellent football and, as a result, have only conceded one goal, which illustrates their fiercely competitive style of play. With one goal and one assist in this World Cup, Pulisic is undeniably the star of the USA.
Marko Livaja | Croatia | F | 5.5M | 0% ownership
A risky player who can make a difference. Although Croatia has not yet played the best football possible, the unique qualities that this team possesses have the potential to make a difference. Livaja has been on the line-up for the last two games and has scored one goal. It is a player with a reasonable price for the potential reward, which is very vital at this stage to balance the budget.
João Simões
Nahuel Molina | Argentina | D | 6.0M | 2% ownership
La Albiceleste only had 0.74 xGA (Expected Goals Against) in the group stage, therefore selecting at least one Argentinian defender for the next round is recommended. And in this case, I’m going with the right-back, who showed us a tease of his offensive potential with an assist in the past game, but I’m hoping to see the Molina from the last two seasons at Udinese, where he scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists in the league.
Bruno Fernandes | Portugal | M | 8.6M | 13% ownership
What can we say about Bruno throughout this World Cup? He’s in terrific form, having opened the competition with two assists against Ghana and two goals against Uruguay in the second game. The Portuguese playmaker has a big offensive threat, great passing and crossing skills, and some set pieces, as well as a goal threat due to his exceptional shooting ability. And when Ronaldo isn’t on the pitch, he takes penalties.
Olivier Giroud | France | F | 6.7M | 12% ownserhip
The French side accumulated 6.63 xG (Expected Goals) in the two games that Giroud started, so an offensive pick from them makes perfect sense. To add to the appeal of that pick, they will face Poland, who despite only conceding twice they had an xGA (Expected Goals Against) of 6.14. So, after resting against Tunisia, Giroud will be fresh for that game, and for just 6.7M he represents great value for money.
Luís Costa
Harry Maguire | England | D | 5.6M | 5% ownership
0.24 xG, 1.3 shots (0.3 on target) per game. We believe that Harry Maguire’s goal is around the corner and Senegal’s 1 xGA from set pieces in this tournament makes this match a perfect opportunity for the English defender to shine.
Ousmane Dembélé | France | M | 7.5M | 7% ownership
12 points in this tournament so far. However, the Frenchmen expected stats show that he could’ve done ~16 points, 7.6 expected points per 90 minutes Adding the 3.49 Key Passes, 1 Big Chance Created p90, and 5.35 Duels Won p90, we expect Dembele to do well against Poland — a team that conceded 1.5 xGA and 33 touches in the box on average in this tournament.
Julián Álvarez | Argentina | F | 7.0M | 4% ownership
One goal in the last match against Poland, 3 shots on target, and 0.95 xG. Argentina plays against a team that concedes 1.9 xGA and 37 touches in the box, the Socceroos. The 2 big chances missed may be scary but Argentina looks good and confidence is growing. We believe he will get enough chances to give you the return that you need.
Tozé Arantes
Nicolás Otamendi | Argentina | D | 6.0M | 7% ownership
Argentina was one of the best defense during the group stage and they have a good opponent to get a third Clean Sheet in a row. Of all the defenders, Otamendi was the only one that played all minutes and started the three games so he is the most nailed one. He also got 7.33 duels and 4 CBIs per game, so you can easily expect 1 or 2 bonus points.
Raphinha | Brazil | M | 8.5M | 3% ownership
Brazil is one of the favourites to win the World Cup and has been playing like that so far. Vini Jr. is the stand-out option for midfield but Raphinha can turn out to be a good differential. He has the second most xG in the first two games for the Canarinha (behind Richarlison) and he averages 1.5 shots on target and 1.5 key passes in the two games that he was on the line-up.
Antoine Griezmann | France | F | 7.5M | 6% ownership
The player with the most xA (2.3) of the competition so far and xG of 0.8. With an xGI (Expected Goal Involvement) of 3.1, it is surprising that Antoine Griezmann only got 1 offensive return so far. He has a higher xGI per 90 minutes than Mbappé and Giroud. Also, he is averaging 5.03 key passes per 90 minutes, so it is practically 2 points on that.
