Southern Ontario is rich in haunted buildings, historic sites, hotels, tunnels, and houses. A few Google searches will bring you hundreds of places to visit, from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), the Niagara region, Ottawa, Kingston, the Muskokas, and further north. If you plan a road trip to visit as many sites as possible, you’ll need weeks, if not months, to fully experience the most popular haunted spots.

If you’re looking to focus on a specific region concentrated on haunted buildings and sites, Niagara is the best! In fact, Niagara-on-the-lake, the scenic town just a short drive from Niagara Falls, offers a handful of historic buildings and sites with a reputation for being haunted. Considered one of the most haunted towns in Ontario and possibly Canada, Niagara-on-the-lake is the ideal spot to plan a weekend getaway or summer visit if you’re intrigued by its haunting past.
