A young woman who had big dreams saw her life headed in the right direction only to find her success would be short-lived like so many before her. Her life would soon take a turn for the worse and would lead to tragedy.

Ellen Louise Stowe was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, but had big dreams and moved to Los Angeles, California when she grew up in the 1970s. She decided she needed a name change and named herself after the night sky she loved so much. She became known as Star Stowe.

Star had ambitions of becoming a professional dancer, and while she was working towards her dream, she got a job at a local strip club. While working as an exotic dancer, she caught the eye of a Playboy scout, and her career was soon headed in a new direction, at least temporarily.

In the 1970s, Playboy was considered to be the most respectable of all men’s magazines. Young women looking to make it big in modeling or show business often saw posing in the magazine as a way to achieve their dreams and believed it would open doors to bigger and better opportunities.
