Print “I’m All Ears” by Freyja Patton (and purchased by me)

when is it too late to start
when you’re six feet deep
dead and buried
but alive with
two, three, four, five
working eyes
a body that moves
a body that improves
a heart that wants
a mind that reaches out
for purpose and place
eudaimonia
ears off the sofa

and if not yesterday
not tomorrow
not some self-told fiction
later, they call it
when i’m ready
they lie in one ear
and find the other
blown from its roots
then now’s the time
now, now, now
do it now
