China Launches BSN Global Blockchain Network for Commercial Use
Six months after the beta release, the Chinese BSN blockchain network is now officially launched and is available for global commercial use. Network development was launched in 2019.
On April 25, in Beijing, various government representatives and heads of organizations gathered for a meeting, where the public launch of BSN was announced.
According to the developers, BSN is a global infrastructure that will help companies create and launch new blockchain applications at the lowest cost. The project will also partially serve the “smart cities” and the “digital economy” of China.
Developers from companies like China Mobile, China UnionPay, and Huobi China worked together to create BSN.
Interest in BSN is now shown by both corporate and individual developers. For half a year of beta testing, more than 2000 developers have tried working with BSN. Among them were those who managed to develop applications for charity on BSN, tracking goods and creating electronic invoices.
BSN Development Alliance Chairman Shan Zhiguang said there are 128 publicly available nodes in the network, 76 of which are in China, 44 are under development, and the remaining 8 nodes are foreign city nodes that span six continents. Shan Zhiguang also said that by the end of 2020, the number of BSN nodes should grow to 200.
The launch of a full-fledged BSN network also implies that developers will no longer have any restrictions on developing, deploying or updating applications, and they will be able to work with the network at any time.
