Gazprom Prepared to Violate US Sanctions

In the port of Mukran in Germany, everything is ready to continue the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Bloomberg reports with reference to satellite photos of the port.
The pictures show that sections of the pipeline were moved to the pier equipped with a crane for loading. Nearby is the dredging ship of the contractor, Nord Stream 2 AG.
Also on the photo dated May 10, the Akademik Chersky vessel is visible, which, presumably, will complete the pipeline.
According to Bloomberg, on December 20, US President Donald Trump signed the country’s defense budget for the fiscal year 2020, which provides for the imposition of sanctions against Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream.
Due to the sanctions, Allseas, which was involved in the laying of Nord Stream 2, suspended operations and recalled special vessels.
The “Gazprom” announced that the company will finish the pipeline on its own. As a vessel ready for work, the Akademik Chersky pipe-layer purchased from China was called. The vessel left the port of Nakhodka in mid-February, and on May 9, after numerous changes of course, came to Mukran.
