Bullionix.io is an innovative NFT minting platform launching on March 30th. Bullionix enables users to mint and collect 3D gold-staked NFTs
Bullionix is a new dapp that promises to deliver the future of gold. It’s a future where the users participate in each step of the minting process. On Monday, March 30th the Prospectr Studios developed dapp will go live for all to try out.
The Bullionix team has created smart contracts that enable ERC20 tokens to be directly staked to non-fungible ERC721 tokens. They are using this technology to create NFT collectibles that have the gold-backed stable coin, DGX, staked to each (1 DGX = 1 gram of gold). Most NFTs derive value from factors that exist off-chain like popularity and utility. Those more speculative values have their place with Bullionix too, but the team really wanted to expand on the idea of NFTs with specific amounts of on-chain value.
If a Bullionix NFT is minted with 5 DGX staked to it, the NFT’s owner also owns those 5 DGX. The owner can burn that NFT at any point and the staked 5 DGX will be returned to their wallet. This is how Bullionix NFTs provide a base value tied to the price of gold.
“By combining NFTs and DGX, we’re able to offer a completely unique gold collecting experience that takes inspiration from real life but settles it on the blockchain,” explained Bullionix creator, Jesse Johnson, “The DGX token is issued by Digix.global, Ethereum’s innovative smart gold provider. What they’ve already accomplished gives us the foundation needed to make our dapp possible.”
More than gold
While the world economy has most everyone taking a closer look at gold, Bullionix is about more than precious metals. Equal priority has been dedicated to challenging what it mean’s to own and view NFTs. Most NFT collectibles are represented as flat images. While there’s nothing wrong with that, Bullionix is focusing on interactivity by offering 3D, high-resolution collectibles.
“The way we view and enjoy NFT collectibles deserves a lot more attention,” Jesse emphasized. That’s why the team has developed a display case that allows users to properly enjoy their collection: zoom in on details, flip it over, show a favorite collectible to friends. Bullionix is one of the very first dapps to emphasize mobile over PC. This is to create more opportunities for a user to share their collection with others; sparking curiousity, conversation and hopefully wider crypto adoption.
“Intuitiveness was the key word that informed all design decisions,” Bullionix lead dev, Daniel Matthieu says, “We play to strengths. For example, a laptop offers a superior experience for minting NFTs but a phone is the best way to view and share them. So we made sure to allow users the ability to still view their collection even if their phone doesn’t have an Ethereum wallet.”
A Virtual Launch Party
The dapp goes live March 30th on Bullionix.io at 2pm CET (9pm GMT+8). There will be a launch party simultaneously taking place on the popular Ethereum metaverse, cryptovoxels.com. Celebrated digital artist Uwe Dresemann (AKA @buzz_lightning) will be hosting the event and unveiling his first collaborative piece with Bullionix. The event is open to all. Simply visit cryptovoxels.com and search for the venue address: 6 Audience Center.
The team will also be answering questions and leading a livestream on Youtube at the same time. Check the Bullionix website or social channels for more information.
An epic new way to interact with gold, art, and crypto.
