Jon Favreau to direct upcoming “Star Wars” live-action television series

“Star Wars” fans who are used to going to a theatre premiere for a new movie given to us by the Lucasfilm Corporation, get ready to stay on the couch at home with a blanket while you watch the “Star Wars” live-action television series. This television show has been rumored for ages but with Lucasfilm’s hiring of director Jon Favreau, the show seems to be coming soon.

It will be premiering on Disney’s streaming service with other shows being launched such as a “High School Musical” reboot and a series based on Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.” Lucasfilm has given us many parts of the “Star Wars” world, with ten different movies and counting.

Turning the story into a television show will give the creators the opportunity to delve even deeper into the fantasy world. The long lasting franchise caters to kids and adults of all ages, which will accumulate a variety of excited audiences.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said, “I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform.”

Favreau may be the perfect person to tell the new story about an old series because not only is he a director of hit film series like “Iron Man,” he also acted and voiced characters from other “Star Wars” movies. He is well versed in this particular fantasy world and will be able to bring to life a new plot that stays true to the series as a whole.

So, if you are a big fan of “Star Wars” there is a lot to look forward to, with new television shows and movies close on the horizon. In a galaxy not so far away, the new “Star Wars” television series will be coming to your home.
