Daily Debate: Should parents decide which career their children pursue or should the child choose for themselves?

Having a career is a big part of anyone’s life. From the time you are a young child, you are expected to have an idea of what you would do. Most children normally go down the same or the a similar career choice as their parents, whether it is continuing the family business, a doctor, a teacher, or even an actor or actress. Do you think that parents should choose or at least advise their children in what career they pursue, or should the child choose their career path by themself?
