On Saturday, November 6th, LHS Senior Caleb Hershey became the first Cedar to compete in the AAA Cross Country State Championship since 2003. Caleb has been running track and cross country since 7th grade. He has worked very hard and is proud of his accomplishments. When he went to leagues he came in 3rd place, and at districts he came in 11th place. Caleb then was able to go to states, where he ultimately finished in 39th place. This is a huge achievement for him and for LHS!
He told us how he was able to reach his goals. Caleb said, “Every morning before school I ride my exercise bike for about 30 minutes or an hour depending on the day.” Then at practice he runs about 6–13 miles.
At states his goal was to finish in under 17 minutes. Caleb ran a time of 16.57! He had a great last meet for LHS. Due to his great accomplishments he has been offered scholarships and has been scouted by a number of colleges. A few colleges that he is looking at are Temple, Cal-U, and Kutztown. We wish him luck in the years to come!
