Recently, Lebanon High School had the opportunity to voice their vote in a mock presidential election. While most students are too young to vote, it doesn’t mean they don’t have an opinion about current events. All things considered, four years is a long enough time to establish a political stance. From a deadly virus outbreak to wide-scale protesting, its hard to stay silent during a time where having a voice matters so much.

This year is unlike any other, and Americans wait on bated breath for the outcome of this prolonged race. Seems like we’re all sitting on the edge of our seats, watching a season finale unfold after years of built up suspense. Still, we didn’t have to wait long for the poll to count our votes, unlike some states that shall not be named…

Amongst the three presidential candidates, only one can be named victorious. At a whopping 63.8%, more than half of the students that voted agreed Joe Biden should be president. Following behind him, 28.9% of students believed Donald Trump should be reelected for another four years. Whereas, Jo Jorgensen only had 7.3% of the students’ vote.

Do you think LHS’s poll can predict the outcome of this election? Or should Gen-Z just stick to Twitter rants?
