Christmas is around the corner, and winter break is quickly approaching. Since there is a long break coming up, here are 10 Christmas movies to watch over the holiday break.

Home Alone (1990)

You may have seen this film before, but it is always fun to go back and rewatch. This movie is based on when bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister acts out the night before a family trip, and his mother punishes him by sending him to sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, his wish has come true to have no family members. This is until his joy turns into disappointment when two men try to rob the McCallister home.

Dr.Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Here is a child favorite, but also perfect to watch with the family on a cozy night. This is the live animated version of the original cartoon version. Here, the Grinch tries to ruin Christmas for the citizens of Whoville alongside his dog Max, and leaves his home to steal everything that reminds him of Christmas from the Whoville citizens. Little does the Grinch know that Cindy Lou Who becomes a hitch in his plan to ruining Christmas.

ELF (2003)

In this family comedy movie Buddy was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised among Santa’s elves to adulthood. Buddy can’t help the feeling of not fitting in, so he travels to New York, in a full elf uniform, in search of his biological father. As this happens, Walter Hobbs, a skeptical businessman, tries to rekindle his relationship with Buddy. After a DNA test proves this, the results become chaotic.

The Christmas Chronicles (2018)

In this hilarious but loving film, two siblings, Kate and Teddy, come up with a plan to capture Santa Claus on Christmas Eve night. When the plan goes south, the kids join with a somewhat cheerful Saint Nick and his determined elves to save the holiday before it’s too late. Also, don’t forget to watch the second sequel on Netflix!

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

In this Christmas classic an old man going by the name of Kris Kringle fills in for a drunken Santa in Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day parade. Kringle is such a hit that he is quickly appearing regularly at the mall in midtown Manhattan. When Kringle surprises customers and employees alike by insisting that he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court case to determine his mental health and genuineness.
