People around Fintech — Lucienne Mosquera

In this instalment we spoke with Lucienne Mosquera, CEO of Ampere Hospitality.
Lucienne as a CEO of a new start-up company that is specializing in hotel development and operational management has an ability to find a relationship between an area of finance and area of hospitality being disrupted by new technologies. To stay updated with the rapid changes she chose to educate herself on fintech with the CFTE course.
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Lucienne Mosquera, I am CEO of Ampere Hospitality. I’ve been working in hospitality for over 30 years focusing mainly on financial feasibility and value creation in hotels and restaurants. I am Dutch, but live in Gibraltar and after living in the UK for 15 years and with Ampere based in London, I feel a little British also.
Why did you join CFTE?
I am excited about Fintech and disrupting an age-old industry dominated by the banks and large conglomerates. The rate of change in our society is accelerating all the time, powered by technology. Nowhere is this truer than in hospitality.
What is your next project involving Fintech?
Until recently the hospitality industry has been lacking behind the kind of rapid change and development that other industries such as the airlines have encountered. That is, until the OTA’s and the sharing economy began to gain real traction. Now we are seeing almost every area of hospitality being disrupted by new players, from business finance, global payments, to cloud based software, big data analysis and operational technology. Ampere will be at the heart of all this, driving change and significantly ramping up guest and employee satisfaction and profit for business owners.
How do you see the future?
As a scalable, digital and technology-based management platform, we aim to be the industry standard for hotel management and development. As we grow, it is critical for us to maintain our agility by building partnerships to serve a broader spectrum of unmet needs, working in harmony to make end-to-end hotel experience super rewarding for all stakeholders i.e. guests, employees, owners, investors and lenders.
