Midnight at the forsaken station

July 11: Write a poem today.

Waiting patiently at midnight
With a handful of luggage
At the premises of the empty station
There is a complete hush.
With no one else but only two of us.

The vacant coaches look like voids.
That is left unattended and alone.
Rusty Wheels let out a screech.
Moving slowly towards their destination
They are still attempting to determine their direction.

Dressed neatly, wearing casuals,
Those mysterious eyes stare at me.
Lingering subtly without being obvious
Meeting my gaze and nodding his head lightly.
It feels as if he’s calling out my name.

The forsaken platforms haunt unvoiced emotions.
It’s as aimless as a lost soul.
Whose presence is present yet it needs to be?
The mystery creeps closer and closer.
And starts hovering around and rising like smoke.

Like flickering headlights on the train
My love flickers too for him.
Who seems invisible yet complete?
With no background story or a hint
His eyes do the work, and his lips send signals.

Is this a headstart for something new?
Maybe I need to learn what it means.
It could be the spot for a meetup.
Or is it just a palace of illusions?
With nothing fancy but all immersed in reality.
