A Few of My Trivial Pursuit Games: Photo is Mine

Who knew there was a day set aside just for me? I mean, aside from my birthday of course. It’s National Trivia Day and as the undisputed queen of all things trivial, I claim this auspicious day as my very own. Gifts and accolades are most welcome. Parades are optional.

See the photo, above? That’s part of my oak TV stand. There are 4 versions of Trivial Pursuit there. Those are just the games I like best. I like to have them at the ready. I have others that are put away.

If it hadn’t been for Lynn L. Alexander, I wouldn’t have known about National Trivia Day. She came up with a prompt to mark the occasion:

It’s National Trivia Day. Do you play trivia? Tell us a snippet of trivia you find fascinating or ask a trivia question.

To her first question, do I play trivia? The answer is obvious. Yes! I’ve been playing trivia since 1979 when a couple of Canadian kids came up with a trivia-based board game called Trivial Pursuit.

I bet you didn’t know that the game was invented in Canada. That’s your first little bit of trivia from me today. It’s not my favourite snippet, that’ll come later, but it’s an interesting factoid nonetheless.
