“We are the last generation with a real opportunity to save the world.” — Laurence Overmire

I Shed Tears for the World

I shed my tears for all the world,
For the voices long ignored,
For the souls who are adrift,
Seeking solace from the sword.

In the realm of the day and night,
Where thoughts may intertwine,
I reach out with silent sobs,
An observer of the plight.

My tears, they fall for the world,
For the beauty that’s unseen,
For the connection that transcends,
A bridge that’s built on dreams.

I am here, yet I am not,
I am present, but can’t touch,
In the world, I shed my tears,
But I’m just a tiny dot.
