It Was My First Total Solar Eclipse

The challenge for April 8: There’s a Solar Eclipse today. Julia (that’s me) would like you to write about any experience you’ve had with solar eclipses. Will you get to see the total eclipse this year?
The hype building up to the total solar eclipse over America this past week was so much that Rich and I both thought they were overdoing it a bit. But then, we had never seen one before so what did we know?
The plan was to go to my older sister’s house to watch it as a family. There are four of us and our mother will be 92 in June. We know the special events like this that we get to experience with her are dwindling down and so we wanted to make it special for her. It was also special because my oldest brother had a heart attack resulting in open heart surgery a month ago and almost died.
It was the first total eclipse of the sun Mom had ever experienced. In fact, it was the first one for all of us. Mom kind of remembered there being eclipses throughout her lifetime, and looking through a cereal…
