I’ve Had Four “Marriages”

I was told I had to leave on New Years Day 2018. I had 11 days to find a place to live. To be fair, he helped me pack my 56 boxes of books, and booked a removal truck. Unbeknown to him, I cancelled the truck. I didn’t want to leave. Then he booked another truck. The late notice cost him a lot more dollars than the original truck.

I might have been lulled into lala land, but his elderly mum had just passed away and he had a lot of stress regarding funeral arrangements and her will. I supported him in the fight against against his sister.

I’m just recalling what I did to help him, none of it for any payment. I helped him paint two of his rental houses. He sent me to choose the floral bouquets for the church for his mum’s funeral. He was happy with everything I did for him. He wanted me to give up my full-time job to spend more time with him. I refused. I loved my job and I liked the financial independence it gave me.

I mowed the lawns and tended the gardens. He did the whipper-snippering. I looked after the pool and the house and he looked after his…
