Lights, Messages & Rainbows
An anonymous invitation to a strange club
The message on the wall framed in twinkling lights amuses me. It’s the same one I received in the post. The only difference is that this message doesn’t have an address written on it.
“You are very welcome in our club; why don’t you march right on in and get the surprise of your life,” it reads.
“Oh, why not?” I whisper into the hum drum of the city night.
I have nothing to lose. It doesn’t worry me that I responded to a strange anonymous handwritten message, and came to this place I know nothing about alone. I don’t fear anything.
I like challenges. Living Dangerously, is my mantra in life.
“Amy,” my dad said to me on my twentieth birthday last year, “You will one day regret your bloody impulsiveness.”
I march army style down the stairs and enter the No Name Club. Why would anyone give their club such a silly name?
I stop three meters into the hazy, smoke-filled club lounge, which has an eerie, out-of-this-world atmosphere. Several tables are decorated with white tablecloths and red candles in intricate silver candelabra holders.
