Some Fall Leaves: Photo is Mine

As I look out the window this morning, it looks like the fall leaves are almost as done as October is. The trees are almost bare, a sure sign that winter is almost upon us.

But, not quite. October’s not finished with us just yet. Thanks to Lynn L. Alexander there’s some October Randomness left to address:

She has questions. I’ve got answers. I can’t guarantee they’ll be pumpkin-spiced as the title suggests. The truth is I HATE PUMPKIN SPICE! Yeah, I said it. But a clever title nonetheless, no?

Let’s get into it:

Could you live without an air conditioner?: I live in Canada. You’d expect the answer to be a simple yes. Au contraire, my friends. Canada has, in the last decade or so, become the literal land of fire and ice. Winters are bone-chillingly cold. Last year, I got to experience a windchill of -49 C (that’s -56.2 F).

And the summers are hoter than the depths of hell! When I was young, days where the mercury topped 30 were far and few…
