Too Late For My Dream?

I missed my chance in 2015 to own a rundown house in a French village

I was working fulltime. I had won $32,000. I had no grandchildren. I had dreamed of living in France since I was a teenager. I was 65. Why didn’t I have the courage that Janice Macdonald had who moved to France aged 68. She didn’t even speak French, for heaven’s sake. Janice is my heroine, and a great writer. If you don’t read her on Medium, you should.

Where would you like to live if you could relocate anywhere and still make a decent living?

Oh, Deanna! How can you ask such a thing? How about anywhere but here? Not specific enough? How about Europe? Still not specific enough?

How about Spain? In December 2019, I spent a month in Andalucia, Spain and my favourite village of the places we stayed was Alhama de Granada, just 50km from Granada which is famous for its Alhambra. I can rent a house in Alhama de Granada for a month for much less than I pay here for one week. Crazy, eh?
