May 12 daily writing prompt at the Challenged — Diane BeardowFestivals: Festivals Around the World. Are there any festivals in May where you live?

There are not any festivals that I know of in our area that take place in May. At least none that I am familiar with. But the first weekend in June every year our local city of Van Wert, Ohio holds the annual Peony Festival.

The Peony Festival is an amazing weekend of family-friendly and fun events with plenty of free entertainment including a car show, a children’s fishing derby, live bands on Friday & Saturday nights, as well as other live performances throughout the festival, and of course, The Grand Parade.

In addition to all the great free entertainment, there is always the Food Truck Alley, the annual Vendor Fair, a Children’s Tent for the kids, and the Beer Garden for the adults!

Rich has always enjoyed the car shows, me too. And we like walking through the park full of vendors and eating the food truck food.
