We Got Lucky in Fricker’s

I don’t know why, but Bruce Coulter wants to know where the craziest place I got lucky is. (Not a Valentine’s story).

I know this is past due since it was the writing prompt for February 1, but I write them when inspiration hits. And this one just hit me like a brick.

Rich and I love to gamble. Very minimally, but we do tend to buy a few lottery tickets, pull a few tabs, and play some Keno once in a while. Our favorite place to play Keno is at our favorite place to eat when home in Ohio. Fricker’s Restaurant.

We never win big. Heck, we are lucky to break even most times. But one time we hit a jackpot playing Keno at Fricker’s. Fricker’s is a sports bar and there are televisions everywhere. We figure we might as well spend an extra $20 to play Keno while we eat. It gives us something fun to watch on the TV.

We won a whole $429 on a $20 play one time, so we came out $409 ahead. Except that, we had to pay for our food and drinks also. Not bad as far as we were concerned. That’s…
