2 — Rodrigo S-C — Some love winter and its frozen beauty, and others would skip the whole season if they could. Where do you stand on the winter spectrum? Love it or hate it?
I’m on the “love winter” team. Admittedly the coldest I’ve ever experienced was -5C in Zbilje, Slovenia. It had snowed overnight and our rental car was covered with snow and its windscreen was covered in ice. Keeley had the idea to pour boiling water on it. You’d think that would melt it, wouldn’t you? It didn’t. The boiling water froze and the ice became thicker.
I thought the boiling water might crack the screen so we stopped doing that. Nothing we did made any difference so we ended up getting in the car and putting the demister on HOT. The car took a long time to warm up. I swear it was colder in the car than out. Eventually the ice thawed and we able to continue on our way to Venice. Cold but no snow. And beautiful. It was my second visit but Keeley wanted to see it. We had planned to drive through to Lake Como but detoured to Venice. Just like I’ve detoured off topic here.
So I reckon I’d love winter in Europe but I’m not sure I’d enjoy the temperatures they…
