The Chaos Report: Sean Hannity Is “The 3rd Man”
You Know How Much We Hate Muck And Conspiracy Theories. But In This Case You Almost Have To Believe The Exact Opposite Of The Way Everything Appears, To Think Trump, His Lawyer, And His Cohorts Weren’t Up To Something…
Trump lawyer Michael Cohen appeared before a federal judge to reveal his client list for the last couple of years and it turns out there were only three: the President, now-resigned Deputy Finance Chair of the Republican National Committee Elliott Broidy, and a third person he preferred not to name, because it would be “embarrassing”. Judge Kimba Wood directed Cohen’s lawyer to name the third client anyway, and it turns out to be none other than Fox stalwart Sean Hannity, who’s been railing against the Cohen raids since they occurred last week without ever revealing he is a client of the primary target of the raids.
Of course we don’t know what sort of work Cohen did or does for Hannity. Only that once his name was laid bare, Hannity tried to slither away, at first saying in a statement: “I never retained him, received an invoice, or paid legal fees”. (But then why would Cohen feel compelled to reveal the relationship?) Later, on his radio show, Hannity changed it a little: “I might have handed [Cohen] 10 bucks and said, I definitely want privilege on that.” (As Judge Judy would say: ‘nobody in real life talks like that!’)
Failure to at least reveal this type of conflict-of-interest is absolutely a fire-able offense for a journalist, which Hannity is not. So is this a problem for Fox? Sure. It this a problem that won’t be explained away as they protect their highest-rated star? There’s already a lot of chatter about questions pertaining to “real estate matters”…

What About Trump’s Motion We Told You About Yesterday That He Get First Crack At The Seized Material?
Judge Wood said she’s not likely to say “yes” to that, which would’ve essentially given the President the power to decide on his own what is and isn’t protected by attorney-client privilege. (And which was essentially a request to rule against Trump’s own Justice Department on behalf of Trump). But she didn’t let federal prosecutors immediately have at it either, even under the constraints prescribed in this type of investigation. She did offer a strong endorsement of the U.S. Attorney’s Office handling the raids, saying “I have faith in the Southern District U.S. Attorney’s Office that their integrity is unimpeachable.” At the same time she said “a special master might have a role here. Maybe not the complete role, but some role.” Meaning someone from the outside, which is what Cohen now says he’d be good with.
Wood hasn’t made a final decision on that yet, nor whom it might be. She only promises to come back with a ruling quickly.

Let’s Focus On The “2nd Man” Too, Because That’s Also Interesting
This was known before the hearing, but it’s something we’ve been meaning to talk about, and fits in the context of the day. Cohen’s client #2 is Elliott Broidy, freshly resigned as Deputy Chair of the Republican National Committee, whom the Wall Street Journal reports impregnated a former Playboy model, Shera Bechard, and then paid her a $1.6-million settlement. She subsequently had an abortion.
What’s interesting is who the lawyer was on the other side: Keith Davidson. Never heard of him? He was also Karen McDougal’s attorney at the time she signed her agreement. He was also Stormy Daniels’ attorney at the time she signed her agreement. Coincidence? It’s possible: Davidson is well-known in Beverly Hills for specializing in tabloid-ish cases. At the same time the fact that all 3 women had the same lawyer, and Trump and Broidy had the same lawyer, gives the appearance of a tidy little loop. In fact, McDougal, in her lawsuit, alleges “Mr. Davidson was working closely with representatives for Mr. Trump while pretending to advocate on her behalf.”

The Problem With All Of This Is It’s Way Too Entertaining…
And face it: Trump won’t lose his supporters until they start getting bored with him. The Hannity revelation couldn’t have been scripted any better if it was a top-rated cable comedy/drama. In fact, it might’ve been rejected for being too unbelievable.
