The inspiration for this piece came from a friend of mine which expressed deep frustration about the world we live in. And I couldn’t say I don’t feel the same.
There is a lot of emptiness around us and at times, one can feel distressed and disconnected just for having the willingness to pursuit deeper things.
Deep conversations, deep relationships.
In a world where so many people seem to feel delighted watching other’s people lives on TikTok and Instagram or too comfortable posting revealing photos that should stay private for the seek of attention — it seems like wanting something deeper makes you be the ‘weird one’.
Don’t get the wrong idea.
I love being stupid and silly, not everything needs to be ‘heavy’ and deep all the time.
But if this is the leading culture within my relationships, I would rather stay on my own.
You should never feel like you have to compromise to fit into society.
Like you have to ‘sell yourself’ to get attention.
Don’t be scared to go deep, it’s your gate, and that’s fine. Not everyone has to pass through the gate.
