Everybody’s selfish. Complementarity is the basis for identity (self sufficiency).

Everybody’s selfish. This is what causes all the arguments. We believe in our own point of view, and, we want to be around others who share our point of view, the self-sufficient state.

This means pride is the basis for existence. Making all of us prejudiced. Half-the-time, nonsensical, and non-sensible.

So, now that we have it out in the open, we can see why this is true. Complementarity is the basis for identity. So, without a prejudiced point of view, no identity whatsoever. No sense. No sensibility. No pride.

So, this makes forgiving selfishness a lot easier. You cannot have selfless behavior without selfishness because you cannot have identity without complementary behavior. So, half-the-time, we’re all off. Like it or not. Know it or not. Once we understand this, the problems around selfishness (and selflessness) disappear.
