Every symbol articulates, and, thus, conserves, the number ‘two.’ This is because a symbol articulates the circular relationship between a background and a foreground. The background state is always pi. (Humans call this ‘mind.’)

This is why the line is the basic element in design (and nature, in general). The line is both diameter and circumference of a circle. Meaning, pi, as the background state, produces movement as the foreground state.

Therefore there is a circle between the mover and the movement. Any mover. Any movement. This is the basis for all creative activity. Activity, in general. Symbols, in general. Symbolism, in general.

A symbol can only articulate its background state. This means, a symbol has no meaning, unless a human (some other symbol) gives it meaning.

So there is a circular relationship between a symbol and its meaning, meaning the circle is the constant background state. As well as the meaning for the background state. This isn’t always obvious. Until you think about it. Carefully.

The number ‘two’ is involved in everything. Because the number ‘two’ articulates a circle. Diameter. And circumference. Of a circle.

Conservation of the circle is the core dynamic in nature.
