The Truth About ‘Social’ Media

It’s inherently ‘anti-social.’

Social and anti-social. Conservation of a circle.

You can’t have X without Y, zero without one, because circumference and diameter conserve an uber-basic circle. Meaning, 50–50 is the constant and the norm. Two (not-one) is the most basic ‘number,’ and, the ‘core assumption in nature,’ meaning any ‘movement’ (opinion) makes the opposing ‘movement’ (opinion) real.

This explains why ‘social’ media is, inherently, ‘anti-social.’

Why so many people on it, then? You have to know what your ‘friends,’ and, more important, your ‘enemies,’ are ‘doing.’ In order to protect yourself. Because a circle is conserved, you know, inherently, your friends will, eventually turn into enemies, and, your enemies are your ‘true’ friends (they tell you what you need to know in order to survive).

Friends (and enemies) give you permission (and reason) to be a ‘hater.’

Everybody knows this. Explaining why social media survives. It also explains why you can’t separate between ‘true’ and ‘false’ narratives (you need both to have either). And, again, everybody knows this. Explaining why, no surprises, you can’t expect technology companies (or anyone, for that matter) to tell you the ‘truth’ about anything.

By, now, everybody knows: there is no such thing as ‘truth.’ The court of ‘public opinion’ swings back and forth, more regularly then a pendulum. It can’t be helped (radiation, rotation, revolution controls everything). You can’t get away from the ‘circle.’

Explaining why we turn into, and, much prefer, ‘channels’ that pitch, our ‘point of view.’

Explaining, also, why we have a ‘point of view,’ one way or the other, how, and why, we can ‘change it’ down the road, and, why we become an enemy to all of our ‘friends,’ eventually.

Conservation of the circle. Basis for a network. Point of view.

So, once you get to the point where you have experienced this, and, also, thought about it carefully, you will ‘short-cut,’ social media. Meaning, you’ll read headlines, to stay informed, and you’ll steer clear of heavy-duty advocates for one-side of an issue, or, the ‘other.’ You’ll also let most of your email end up as ‘junk.’

You know that everybody knows, underneath it all, and, more important, on the surface:

Conservation of the circle is the core dynamic in nature.
