February was another productive month for Cirus, as we continue to move through the Beta phase of the Cirus Browser Extension!

The Tech

Users will note that we’ve moved through several releases over the last few weeks, with V1.0.8 going live in the Chrome Extension Store at the end of February.

Registration issues have been addressed. Several issues were related to unsupported characters within passwords, and those have now been identified.

Many of you will notice that registration is now required in order to continue using the extension. This was always planned, and is part of the product evolution as we move toward full release. A small number of users reported issues with syncing their rewards after registration. This has already been addressed on our backend, and all users’ rewards will be completely up-to-date shortly.

Work continues in-parallel on the backend systems for wallet integration, Cirus Core buildout and all the fun intricacies that entails.

If you spot any bugs with the extension make sure to file a ticket here we appreciate the feedback!

The Partnerships

In the meanwhile, we’ve levelled up our security, and are now working with Halborn — the award winning blockchain security firm — for comprehensive security auditing of both the Cirus organisation and our products. Halborn provides a range of extremely valuable services including general advisory, code audits and penetration testing, helping us properly secure everything we do and ensure all of our products are resting on solid foundations.

There’s also work happening on the systems redundancy front, to help make our underlying infrastructure more resilient. There may be a news announcement or two around this later on once the integration work is done and things are more concrete, so keep an eye out for that.

Finally, we announced a partnership with a private marketing firm to kickoff our first Ambassador program. This program will help boost adoption of our first product (the Cirus Browser Extension) and will lay the groundwork for additional programs in the future.

The First Milestone!

On that same note, February also saw us hit our first significant adoption milestone, with the Cirus Browser Extension surpassing 10,000 downloads in 42 days. We may or may not have already doubled that figure — wink wink — so keep on the lookout for more updates and announcements as we roll past significant milestones!
