Why You Need To Quit

A remedy for the anxious mind.

When I pulled out of the driveway, my windows were rolled down.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” she said, looking a bit grim.

Yes, I’m quitting today.

And no, I’m never turning back.

People like to tell you

“Quitting is not an option”.

They tell you not to give up. Not to fall short. Not to be a Quitter.

But there are some things, in life, that absolutely beg to be given up.

The day I mentioned above, I quit my job.

The day before that, I quit putting pressure on myself.

A week before, I quit eating wheat.

A month before, I quit being a vegetarian.

A year before that, I quit talking to a friend.

Let’s not fool ourselves.

Not everything is worth doing. And not everyone is worth our time. So I quit a lot of things nowadays. That way, I can commit to the things that are most important.

The things that allow me to thrive.

Let’s thrive today.
