By February of this year, my husband and I had been bouncing around Europe for 7 months, and had experienced our fair share of Baroque and Gothic architecture, dramatic cathedrals, and $5 bottles of exceptional wine. While those wonderful things never get old, we were also ready for a change of pace.

February marked the Asia continent portion of our trip, and we were over-the-moon excited to make our way to Bali — a magical place we’d never expected we make it to in our lifetime.

When you think of Bali, social media posts with palm trees, sweeping fields of green, colorful flowers, and rich pools of water.

And if that’s what you thought of, well… you’d be right. Because that’s exactly what it’s like.

Another world? Maybe another universe entirely.

Bali has increased in popularity among young people over the last decade for many reasons, from the impossibly beautiful scenery, to the low cost of living, to the luxurious villas.
