A Father

A time of year, the spotlight shines

A father’s presence — the moment defined.

A moment spared for those of which this day brings pain

A memory, an estrangement, a complication

On a day such as this, we take a moment to receive

That which is not on earth, but offered through the divine trinity

A fathers presence whether wanted or gained

A father’s presence offered in Jesus’ name.

A short prayer and reflection. A day spent honouring Father’s is not always an easy day for us all. Some of us have complex relationships with them, some father have passed onwards. Sometimes a father figure isn’t the traditional father, and we access nurturing values, peace and love through something else.

On a day like today, God offers everything. We acknowledge the diversity of the journey and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We acknowledge the shared heritage we access through God and celebrate paternity in all it’s forms and meanings to us.

For those celebrating a non-traditional father today, we recognise you and pray with you.

This was posted by a deleted user on Reddit so its super hard to credit it properly. Literally, I’d have to attribute it to u/[deleted]. But anyway, it was posted in r/pics like three years ago and I love to see a Jesus with locs.
